The Sixth Annual Asian Heritage Awards will be the Asian-American event of the year! Asia Media presents their signature special awards event that will honor men, women, and organizations of Asian-American descent that have made a difference in the community in one of several categories. Silk Road is once again at the helm of this prestigious celebration, this time taking place on the USS Midway! Purchase tickets online here!

Special Honoree for the 2009 Asian Heritage Awards will be Antonio Taguba, a retired Major General in the United States Army. He is the second Filipino American to attain general officer rank in the U.S. Army, and will be recognized and honored at the event. And the USS Midway is the perfect venue to host this year's event, as we pay tribute to the military and their sacrifices for our country! From the USS Midway website:

"Midway Magic" is a historical fact. It was a term known throughout the Navy as the USS Midway steamed through a 47-year career of service to country. Imagine a carrier that was commissioned in 1945 and served as a flagship in Desert Storm in 1991. No other carrier served as long as the USS Midway.

This year will feature 15 categories listed below. Voting was open for a month and we received almost 50,000 votes! You can see the entire ballot at by clicking here. Winners were announced on the night of the event and are listed below.

Hosted by San Diego television personalities Marcella Lee from KFMB and Jessica Chang from 4SD, the evening will feature an amazing entertainment line up, as we are graced with the talents of Tina Guo, Xingjian Dance Studio, Lindsey Yung, PASACAT, and Heali'is Polynesian Revue.
